National and Regional Projects

Alberta will receive $848 million over 10 years for projects that are of national and regional significance. Consideration is predominantly given to medium to large scale projects. 

The federal government will contribute a maximum of 33% to an approved project with the provincial government and municipality providing the rest. For provincial projects, the federal government will contribute a maximum of 50% with the Government of Alberta providing the other 50%.

Approved projects include:

Calgary Flood Mitigation Project - $10,469,139

Cougar Creek Long Term Flood Mitigation Project (Canmore) - $14,447,565

Edmonton LRT Valley Line - $150,000,000
